China Railway Guangzhou Bureau Group Co., Ltd. was established on December 5, 1992, and its registered office is located at No. 151, Zhongshan 1st Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. The company is one of the 18 Railway Bureau Group Co., Ltd. managed by China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., referred to as "Guangzhou Railway". The predecessor was Guangzhou Railway Bureau and Wuhan Railway Bureau separated by Hengyang Railway Bureau in 1958. The Hengyang Railway Bureau moved south to Guangzhou and established Guangzhou Railway Bureau.
In February 1993, approved by the Economic and Trade Office of the State Council, Guangzhou Railway (Group) Corporation, the first railway transportation enterprise group in China, was established on the basis of the original Guangzhou Railway Bureau. The total extension length of the line is 10,483.7 km, the operating mileage is 4,907.6 km, the electrified operating mileage is 2,005.554 km, and the catenary is 7,214.693 km. There are 11,785 turnouts, 2,754 bridges, 301,637 linear meters, 964 tunnels, 435,043 linear meters, and 19,916 culverts, 527,074 linear meters.
In 2023, Anyang Railway Equipment Co., Ltd. will provide 40,000 pieces of pre-embedded iron seats(casting anchor bolts) to China Railway Guangzhou Bureau Group Co., Ltd.
